Report of Activities
Greetings!
This is Iko
Poran’s first bulletin of activities.
- www.ikoporan.org
was launched on July 08, 2003. On these
31 days we had 57,559 page
views and 87 people have
registered in our Mailing List, showing that our
initiative is necessary and welcome.
- IBM
donated two computers, a printer and a HUB to
support our volunteer initiative.
-
"Yes,
Brazil" donated 77 clothes that
will be given to the partner organization where we
run the first program, and, also, Iko Poran´s
T-shirts for the participants in our programs.
- We closed a
partnership with "Dreams
Can Be Foundation", a US-Based
501c(3) that can receive tax deductible
donations from U.S. residents and transfer them to
Iko Poran's account in Brazil.
- Iko
Poran, with its seven programs, will
be the first Brazilian NPO to join GlobalGiving's
corporate giving campaign within the Unites
States.
- We received Volunteer
Canada's support providing a link to Iko
Poran’s Website in its directory of
organizations offering international opportunities.
- We
registered our address in the following Websites
that offer international volunteers programs:
- We are
hosting, recommended by Portal
do Voluntário, Ms. Jaione Arregi,
a Spaniard from Bilbao, in the Basque Country,
North of Spain. Jaione is voluntarily working
in the translation of our Web Site to Spanish. She is
accommodated in CENAM.
- We have
formatted a new programs that will be included in
our Website this month:
"Amazon
School" - Environment and
Traditional People Issues/MG State.
- We are
formatting for the American organization Volunteers
For Peace a special "work camp" program
for its volunteers that should take place in Projeto
Saúde e Alegria/PA State (Health
and Happiness Project), either in the end of 2003
or beginning of 2004.
- We have been
affiliated to American Express Cards
and we will start the on-line operations for
payments and/or donations soon.
- Iko
Poran, through its members Marcelo
and Felipe, supported and voluntarily worked in
the preparation of CEC Santa Cândida for
10 French volunteers.
