Report of Activities

Greetings!

- www.ikoporan.org was launched on July 08, 2003. During these two months of operations we had 159,190 page views.

- Iko Poran was listed as a link of interest in the August, 21^st  bulletin of the initiative Ethics and Development from the Inter-American Development Bank.

- Mr. Dirk Hegmanns, coordinator in Brazil of the program United Nations Volunteers, is the newest Iko Poran Consulting Member.

- Through a partnership with the Dreams Can Be Foundation, Iko Poran is joining with the following projects the corporate giving campaign that GlobalGiving promotes within the U.S.:

• Amazon School - Education for Sustainability with Amazonarium and Ecological Crystalline Foundation; 

• Environmental Awareness, Recycling & Culture  with Blue Wave Movement Foundation; 

• Potiguara Indians Information and Living Standards with the Potiguara Community Council; 

• Health and Happiness with the Heath and Happiness Project; 

• Be a Digital and Academic Citizen with the NGO Be a Citizen; 

• Social Circus and Citizenship  with the NGO If This Street Was Mine; 

• Construction and Solidarity  with the NGO If This Street Was Mine.

- Iko Poran will run a “work camp” program in partnership with the organization Volunteers For Peace - VFP. The program will take place at the Health and Happiness Project, next February, 2004. Click here to see its presentation.

- The program with VFP can also be accessed in the 2004 calendar of the site VolunteerWorldWeb, maintained by the United Nations Volunteers.

- Iko Poran was invited by the International Association of Volunteer Efforts - IAVE, to join the discussion group to the 18th World Volunteer Conference, which will be held next August in Barcelona, Spain.

- Iko Poran has received the support of the following organizations that are already posting our international volunteer opportunities:

• San Francisco Bay Area Progressive Directory; 

• Idealistas; 

• e-voluntários.net; 

• VoluntaryWork.

- The Web Site BrasilNippon, which does the international exchange between Brazilians and Japanese, will contribute with Iko Poran’s international communication and raising donations to our partner organizations.
