Community Tour Iko Poran and TripleM
Visit well-structured development projects located within low-income communities at the same time as contributing to their sustainability.
This is an initiative of sustainable tourism, aimed at people who are seeking different experiences and are conscious of the importance of social responsibility and environmental integrity.
You will have the opportunity to experience the city from a new and different perspective. You will also see the creative solutions that are being implemented to solve our problems.
The tours take the maximum of 12 visitors and they are conducted in air-conditioned vans with professional and informed tour coordinators, who know the local communities and will help you better understand their culture.
Iko Poran is a non-profit organization and most of the program fee is donated to strengthen the projects (please see the graphic with the breakdown of expenses below). Triple M is the tourism
operator.

14:00 – The social situation of Rio de Janeiro and the
Vigário Geral community – VG, will be contextualized on route. Also, you will receive information about the history of the project
"Reciclagem e Cultura" (Recycling and
Culture); its goals and results achieved.
14:40 to 15:40 - Visit to the premises of the
Recycling and Culture Center, following through the process of manufacturing furniture frames from recycled plastic bottles, from the initial stages of washing the bottles to the labeling and stocking of the final
product.

15:40 to 16:00 -
Afro Reggae
Explanations of the project, its aims and results. Visit to the site where the Afro Reggae Cultural Center is being built.
16:00 to 17:15 - Visit the premises of the community center where the visitors will experience the energy and rhythm of the music group
Afro Mangue, as they rehearse on Mondays and Wednesdays, and of the group
Tribo Negra, on Fridays.
Approximately 17:20 - return to the place of departure
On the way back there will be an optional evaluation form.
18:00 – Drop

14:00 - The social situation of Rio de Janeiro and the so-called "street children" will be contextualized on route. Also, you will receive information about the history of the project
Se Essa Rua Fosse Minha - SERFM, its goals and results achieved.
Approximately 14:30 - Arrival at the
Creative Development Center - CDC, of SERFM in Laranjeiras neighborhood.
From 14:30 to 15:30 - Visit to the premises of
CDC. Visitors will be given a brief audio-visual presentation of the project activities, such as the
Nucleus of Street Approach and the Social Circus
School, which caters for about 600 children.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the children of the permanent
Circus Troupe, and watch them in rehearsal.

15:30 - Departure for the
Cantagalo - Pavão - Pavãzinho community, which is an urban slum located between Ipanema and Copacabana.
The social situation of the community will be contextualized on route. Also, you will receive information about the history of the circus project of
Afro Reggae, its goals and results achieved. In addition, you will visit other local projects such as
"Criança Esperança" (Children of Hope), which have various initiatives such as education, sports, and handcraft among others.
Approximately 16:00 - Arrival at the community
From 16:00 to 17:30 - Visit to a small section of the community; opportunity to take pictures of different beautiful parts of the South Zone. The visitors will watch a short presentation of the Circus Troupe
Raising the Tent of "Afro Reggae".
Visitors will meet children of the project afterwards.
Approximately 17:40 - return to the place of departure
On the way back there will be an optional evaluation form.

| Third Itinerary – Creative Initiatives with at risk children |

14:00 - The social situation of Rio de Janeiro and at-risk children will be contextualized on route. Also, you will receive information about the communities where the
Happy Ending Project is located and its goals and results achieved.
Approximately 14:30 - Arrival at the
Happy Ending Association - HEA
From 14:30 to 15:30 - Visit to some of the communities that surround the project (eight in all).
From 15:30 to 17:15 - Visit to the premises of
HEA.
Visitors will be able to watch and participate in the activities of Art, Education and Culture (Theater and Circus) as well as gaining hands on experience helping with preparation for performances (snacks, costumes, design) and other community activities. The visitors will watch a short circus and theater performance of the children tended by the project.
Visitors will meet children of the project afterwards.
Approximately 17:20 - return to the place of departure
On the way back there will be an optional evaluation form.
