Movimento de Mulheres Parque Horacio

Parque Horácio is a NGO that was formed by women from the community interested in helping the social and financial development of the community.

To reach their goals, the program runs AIDS and DST prevention groups, health promotion campaigns including blood pressure and blood sugar level testing, distribution of contraceptives, and their succesfull health promotion- street stands, that provides outreach on the street about AIDS/STDs.

	Besides the prevention groups, the Project also offers classes for children and women in the arts and crafts and English. Volunteers are encouraged to participate in all of these areas. Any volunteers with specific skill sets in medicine or nursing may also be asked to perform simple tasks such as wound care.
