Cinema Nosso was founded by Katia Lund and Fernando Meirelles, directors of the Oscar nominated Brazilian movie ‘City of God’. The organization’s objective is to promote social inclusion of youth in low-income neighborhoods of Rio de Janeiro through cinema and technology. Students currently take classes in various facets of cinema, English, and subjects of personal development, such as sexuality and drug education. Partners of Cinema Nosso include Harvard University and Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio).
