This program promotes learning through entertaining, sportive and artistic activities. Children and teenagers with a low social and cultural status have serious difficulties fitting into society in a way that maintains their dignity and equips them with the necessary skills to face life’s obstacles. The lack of these abilities make them easy targets for some of the worst social problems of our times, as they slide into the violence of drug trafficking, the vulnerability of unemployment or the humiliation of juvenile prostitution.
The purpose of the Social Circus programs is to create initiatives that reinvent forms of living, individually and collectively, making both volunteers and beneficiaries adopt values and attitudes that oppose individualism and exclude those stressing human and social differences.
The opportunity to show kids and teenagers that life can be mastered through their own effort and talent is something priceless. The fact that this work is seen as an effective and important social action - besides having its beneficiaries support - doesn’t guarantee the projects the funds and resources they require, making volunteer work there not only necessary, but an even more intense experience for every party involved, as it inspires both volunteers and students in the most positive of ways.
