I had to organize myself and wasn’t dependant on anyone else. At first this sole dependency scared the life out of me but I now realize it was the best thing that could have happened and I am truly grateful for the experience and how it has changed me (for the better).

The students were more welcoming than I ever imagined they would be. I think they benefited from me not knowing any Portuguese as they had to converse with me in English
