In additon, living and working in such a ´marvellous´ city and meeting great volunteers from all over has been brilliant.

My main expectations were to provide the children with a flavor of a different culture and in exchange learn about an NGO and the way in which it runs and what it means to children of a favela.

In addition, as I also took part in the children’s main activities the experience truly has been an exchange and given the children the confidence to teach me what they have learnt about circus and about their culture/environment.

As a whole the number of people I have come into contact with, whether it be in the office of Afro Reggae or during class has created an opportunity for cultural exchange which I believe is beneficial to both the organizations people and myself.
