Volunteer Programs
SPECTACULU - KABUM
PARTNER INSTITUTION AND PROJECT
Spectaculu is an organization that offers children and youth from low-income communities in Rio de Janeiro the chance to complement regular scholastic education with artistic, cultural, and professional development during their formative years. The objective of the institution is to provide children and youth with tangible skill sets and self esteem for their future growth. The institution is sponsored by such organizations as UNESCO and The Ayrton Senna Foundation.
Two specific programs are offered for youth at Spectaculu:
Escola Fábrica de Espetáculos: Students are provided training in theatre, acting, costume design, illumination, and carpentry.
Kabum - Escola de Arte e Tecnologia: Students are provided training in video, editing, photography, graphic design, animation, and computer.
In addition, students in both programs are provided training in management skills, English language, and communication skills.

In addition, Spectaculu is open to suggestions from potential volunteers that are interested in formatting a unique project that caters to the volunteer’s unique skills and fulfills Spectaculu’s objectives. Such projects will be required to be related to the arts, and will need to demonstrate formative progression for the students at Spectaculu.
