Big Five Conservation South Africa – Videos
Volunteer in South Africa with Big Five Conservation.
To have a taste of what is waiting for you, have a look at these two videos filmed by our volunteers on the field – Big Five Monitoring:
The term Big 5 refers to the five most difficult animals in Africa to hunt on foot: lions, elephants, buffalos, white & black rhino, and leopards.
In recent years the Big Five have become major concerns for wildlife conservationists.
The lion, the leopard, and the elephant are all classified as vulnerable.
While the white rhinoceros is considered as near threatened, the black rhinoceros is classified as critically endangered.
The conservation status of the buffalo is least concern, but it is experiencing a population decline in uncontrolled areas.
But now you can be a great help in the effort to save these magnificent animals: Volunteer in South Africa monitoring and researching South Africa’s Big Five!
You will be heavily involved in important work to make sure the animals are healthy and the land is well balanced.
You will spend your days, tracking, spotting, recording and observing the movements and behavior of these African animals.
