Sports Volunteer in Argentina: Football Coaching

This project offers sport activities (soccer, hockey, handball) to 400 children (boys and girls) from La Cava, a very poor neighbourhood in San Isidro, Buenos Aires.
The idea is to keep them away from the danger of drug through sports.
Everyday the coordinators highlight the importance of the respect for rules, teamwork and perseverance to become a better person physically, intellectually and socially.
Moreover, as a sports volunteer in Argentina you may help also in all the other sports activities, or even organize their own workshop. For instance, if you like to teach English, you may organize an English class on your own. You might get tired but it will be well worth it!
Child Development Volunteer in Argentina
This is a project that requires a lot of dedication and enthusiasm. You will be helping 60 children from two years old to 14 day-to-day by creating and learning.
They all sleep at the project and will be very excited for you to play with them, teach English or another language, help them with school work or just show them something they have never seen before! Children love to sing, paint and dance! They will greatly appreciate the recreational and extracurricular activities you offer. Moreover you will educate them on important issues like sanitation.
They need a lot of affection and we promise you will fall in love with them too.

This is an orphanage in a poor village located in the suburbs of Buenos Aires. Around 20 children aged 4 to 18 live there while waiting for adoption or returning to their families. It is a humble house, but surrounded by a large field.
The most important role you will have as a volunteer here is to make the children feel that they are with someone who truly cares about them. Simply by playing and having fun with them, being honest and present, you will have a really positive impact on their daily life. The key objective of this project is offering mental, intellectual, physical and social improvement to these deprived children.

Accommodation & Meals
As a volunteer in Argentina you stay in a comfortable house in Martínez, a nice neighbourhood in the North of Buenos Aires.
The house is a classical antique house, on a big avenue close to the train station. As a volunteer in Argentina, you stay in shared rooms shared by six. The house has three complete bathrooms, lounge area, dinning area, a fully equipped kitchen and two fridges. It has free Wi-Fi, lockers, terrace and a nice garden.
Start and Duration of the Programs to Volunteer in Argentina
Projects in Buenos Aires start on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month. As a volunteer in Argentina, you should arrive on Sundays.
You can choose to volunteer from 2 to 24 weeks.
Orientation takes place on Monday after the arrival date.
Requirements to Volunteer in Argentina
You must be at least 18 years old at the start of your placement. Exceptions can be made for under 18’s accompanied by a guardian or with a parental consent.
As a volunteer in Argentina, you must have adequate volunteer travel insurance and you are required to provide a criminal background check to local staff on arrival in Argentina or during orientation.
Knowledge of basic Spanish is desired but not a pre-requisite for your experience as a volunteer in Argentina. If you do not know any Spanish, we recommend that you take advantage of a very affordable Spanish course that our local team can arrange for you.
