Cape Town with its Mediterranean Climate and Gently Rolling Waves to Surf
During your volunteer trip to South Africa, you’ll get to know charming Cape Town, a gem rich in culture. You will see the Table Mountain already on the ride to the volunteer house from the airport. In Cape Town, you may choose from two fascinating wildlife volunteer projects, namely the marine biology internship at the aquarium, and a rescue project for abandoned township dogs and cats.
The large volunteer house in Fish Hoek will be your happy home for this trip. It features a garden and a pool. Rooms are shared dormitory-style. There are three bathrooms with hot, running water, showers and regular flush loos.
During your free time, you can relax in the lounge area, balcony, lush garden and barbeque.
You’ll be only a short distance from the shops and beach.
Fascinating Volunteer Projects and Leisure Activities in and around Cape Town
If you enjoy surfing, join the Surfing program in Muizenberg. On one of the most beautiful beaches of the planet, you can learn to surf on gently rolling waves! As a volunteer, you can share this fascinating experience with adolescents from the neighborhood, and teach them English as well.
On the Southern Peninsula of Cape Town, there are more exciting volunteer projects: the new Teaching Internship at a primary school, Occupational Therapy for children with special needs and Sports Development. One of the favorite experiences is caring and Teaching Children at Doreen’s Crèche, in Masiphumelele.

Wildlife Volunteering in the African Bush, with the Big Five, Vervet Monkeys and more
On the picturesque coastline of the Garden Route, close to Port Elizabeth, you’ll find an Animal Sanctuary, where you can nurse orphaned and Injured Wildlife.
And since you will be living in a nearby lodge, the African Choir will wake you up every morning.

Requirements to Volunteer in South Africa
You must be at least 18 years old at the start of your placement.

In the Animal preservation programs, all volunteers must treat animals and humans with respect.
