Thailand: A Beautiful Destination in the Heart of Southeast Asia

With Burma, Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia on its doorstep, Thailand really is the gateway to South East Asia. Thailand’s stunning natural beauty and fascinating culture make it the best place to start your Asian adventure.

Famously laid back and full of smiles, you’re bound to get a friendly welcome from the local people. Kick back with some mango and sticky rice and get to know the ‘Land of Smiles’.

Since Thailand continues to develop at a fast pace, it has become a fascinating location to volunteer. While you help out with your volunteer work, you will learn about the country and Thai culture.

Volunteer in Thailand and Meet Open, Friendly People

The people of Thailand are open, friendly and spiritual and are of mainly indigenous backgrounds. Although there are significant groups of ethnic Chinese and assimilated Thai-Chinese people throughout the country, as well as hill tribes such as the Karen and Hmong in the north.

Since the Theravada Buddhism is the dominant religion adopted by 95% of the population, the country is awash with beautiful temples. There are also adherents to Confucianism, Islam, Christianity, and animist faiths.

Help to Give Opportunities to the People Left Behind

Thailand, though seemingly utopian, is not without problems. There is a huge pay gap between the richer portion of the population and the poorer.

An agricultural laborer is lucky to earn 300 baht per day while the nouveaux riches cruise past in their BMWs. This means that in many parts of Thailand people live with very little, lacking recourses and access to opportunities.

The New Voluntour Program: Travel and Volunteer at it’s Best

For those who are looking for even more of an adventure, we can also offer the NEW Voluntour program. Consisting of a tour of Bangkok, two weeks volunteering in two different locations across Thailand followed by two weeks on a paradise party island, this option gives you the best of both worlds.
