Hanna’s life-changing experience with Iko Poran

“I volunteered at the Ballet de Santa Teresa two months in 2009 where I taught the children English and Spanish and helped in the kid’s performances.

I had absolutely wonderful time and owe thanks to Vânia and all the rest of the staff at the Ballet and to Felipe and the rest of the Iko Poran team.

Before volunteering, I was nervous about the experience and didn’t know how I could manage alone in a country so different from mine.

From the moment I was picked up at the airport to the moment I left Rio, Ii was taken the best care of by the Iko Poran team.  

And also, during my two-month stay, I got to know the Brazilian way of living, learned some more Portuguese and met my future husband.

Volunteering at Iko Poran was definitely a life-changing experience for me.”
