Childcare Volunteer in Argentina
Childcare Volunteer in Argentina at an Orphanage in Buenos Aires
Go for a trip as a childcare volunteer in Argentina and work at an orphanage caring for the children of a poor neighborhood in the suburbs of Buenos Aires. Around 20 children aged 4 to 18 live there while waiting for adoption or returning to their families. It is a humble house, but surrounded by a large field.
Share Love and Joy with the Children – They Will Appreciate!
Volunteers are very needed to organize all types of activities – be creative! You can teach them arts & crafts, English, plan outdoors activities, organize a theater play or dance workshop, etc.
It really felt like family
With a range of children from about 4 months to 13 years it really felt like a family here – which is precisely what those kids need. That and a bit of love and attention of course. I felt a real connection with not just the kids but also the super caring staff. – Matt, 19 years old, West Sussex, England
They are more than open to anything you want to offer. Most importantly, they need care and affection.

As a volunteer in Argentina, you stay in a Student Hostel, in a student hostel, in a Recoleta Paris Style Townhouse, shared rooms, but with privacy (individual lights and curtains), and very comfortable big size beds.
It is self-catering with cooking facilities and equipment (knowing how to make a good Bolognese is a lifesaver!).
The hostel has free Wi-Fi and lockers. There are always many students from other Spanish speaking countries staying at the hostel, and you will be able to hang out with people from other cultures and to practice your Spanish too!
The hostel is close to Santa Fe Avenue, one of the main avenues in Buenos Aires, to the Shopping center Abasto, to supermarkets, ATMs, and restaurants. Everything
Everything will be at hand! The managers will do their best to make your stay at the Hostel as comfortable as possible.
You must be at least 18 years old at the start of your placement. Exceptions can be made for under 18’s accompanied by a guardian or with a parental consent.
All volunteers must have adequate volunteer travel insurance and are required to provide a criminal background check to local staff on arrival in Argentina or during orientation.
Knowledge of basic Spanish is desired but not a pre-requisite. If you do not know any Spanish, we recommend that you take advantage of a very affordable Spanish course that our local team can arrange for you.
You will have a competent support and advices from the local team and project leaders. Someone will always be available in the case of any emergency. Please keep in mind that you are in a different country and should take some precautions to avoid exposing yourself to certain risks.
The local coordinators will give you all the information to have a safe and unforgettable experience.
No better way to start your travels
As an 18 year old exploring the continent for the first time this was a great way to acclimatise to the friendly South American culture. With the city of Buenos Aires just a half an hour train away as well as other day trips such as Tigre and Temaiken close too, San Isidro offers not just a great support scheme for young affected children, through the Fundación Cor program, but also offers a great location to spend your time during the program.
